What a super fun weekend!!! I was off on Friday and Tuesday so Kate and I took an extended weekend up at my parents place. A bit cold, but still got outside a ton and got in a few fun things.
Friday Kate was up early - 6 :) so we were in Brainerd by about 9:30 am! Good morning Mom and Dad!!! The girls went in shopping and Kate got a new pair of sandals for the summer. That afternoon we played outside and just hung out. The Strohs arrived about 8 and we kept Kate up so she could see them. An excited girl, let me tell ya!
Saturday she was up early again...and woke up Mitchell (you will see some pics of the two of them...they were taken before 7!). Kate went for her first 4-wheeler ride with me and papa brought us for a Jeep ride. She loved both of them. We actually didn't get a boat ride in this weekend. It was too cold and windy. I had a blast on Sat. playing baseball wtih my nephews...and this year I didn't even blow out my ACL!
Sunday was another day of hanging out and playing. Every morning after Kate had her bottle, she would go get her coat and hat and walk over to the door to go outside. She just loves being outside and WANTS to be starting at 7 am!!!
Monday we went and watched papa in the Memorial Day parade and then went to the celebration. It was a bit cold so we had to leave early and go hang out at Caribou and have a cup of coffee :) My dad looked so nice. You will see the pics below. And he is officially famous now...just so you all know. Yes, he was on TV. The Lakeland news. There was a shot of have of his face in one clip and the other was of his pants/shoes! Those shoes are famous now :)) It really was neat. The news did a clip on the events and he did make it into two of the clips. I hope he Tivo'd it for all the kids to see!
Today we were up and out of the house heading home by about 8:45. I have a kid who rises early and is now all about eating a big breakfast - early! Today she ate a whole banana, zucchini bread, and a yogurt. I'm not sure I could eat that much for breakfast. Then once again she went and got her jacket and hat and went over to the door. So out her and Papa went at 8:00 in 39 degree weather! She loved it!!
It was a super time and the official kick off to summer. I just hope it gets over 50 sometime!!!
Our Papa Bob - we are so proud of you.
Dad is in the back left corner.
8:00 am - 39 degrees
What a lady, even crosses her legs when she sleeps.

That Papa Bob, what a veteran all star! Great photos, again, of little Kate. So funny to see her sprawled out on the bed at the Jones Compound.
Hoping for warmer weather in MN
