"This place is beautiful!"

We had a fabulous weekend!!! Friday night we dropped off the dogs at Fred/Annabel's and headed up to Duluth. We stayed at a big waterpark. It was a really good time. It was Kate's first waterpark...actually maybe her first pool experience! There was a big area for the little ones and it included 2 waterslides that we could go on with her. There was also a lazy river and 2 waterslides for the bigger folk. Unlike Kate, she slept in until 9 Sat morning...after breakast we heaqded to the waterpark. She LOVED IT!!! She really did. Took her a little to get used to it, but then she was all about doing ALL the stuff. She even went on a few slides (like at a park) into the water by herself. Corey and I each got to ride the bigger waterslides too, but I know I had more fun when Kate and I went on the kid waterslide! She would just do her little giggle. Very cute!!!

After a good lunch (and a little shopping) we headed up to Gooseberry Falls. It is always so pretty there. We hiked around a bit and hung out there. Kate got lots of shoulder rides, cuz when she was walking she always wanted to go down by the water. At one point when we were throwing rocks, she did a face plant into the river...nothing to be alarmed about...she didn't even cry...but she got a bit wet. You can see from some of the pictures her hair/face it wet! She really did good here also. After the Falls we went and walked around Canal Park. It was a really nice day until about 6:00 when the downpour hit...so that was the end of the sightseeing. We headed back to the hotel and played on the playground equipment and at the arcade. Fun fun...

Sunday we were back at the waterpark (this time when it opened at 8:30) and hung out for a little over an hour. Some little girl was tired so we showered up, checked out and headed for home. This afternoon we hung out at Fred/Annabel's and then had dinner/cake for aunt Carries birthday. It was a very nice day.

Such a fun weekend for us. This was our first family getaway! I look forward to many many many more! Kate is just so dang fun!!!
