Florida!
What a great getaway, even if it was only in the high 50's. We had a wonderful time visiting my parents in Florida for a week. Corey, the girls, and I flew down. The girls both did super on the flights and even endured the 2.5 hour delay we had. I was so proud of them. Kate got a bit nervous when the plane starting going so fast, but once we were off the ground, no worries. We had no problems with ears or motion sickness. Corey was only able to stay a few days so I travelled home with the girls alone. Again, they did fantastic. Kate actually slept the entire second leg of our flight so that helped too.
It was Kate's first visit to the ocean. She was a bit nervous at first and hung out with Grams on the steps down to the beach. After 10 minutes I went up and got her and once she had her feet in the sand, she was hooked! She loved playing in the sand. I brought (and Grams had bought) a few Polly Pockets and Barbies for the beach. Kate just loves playing with them. Actually there is still a polly pocket buried somewhere at the beach! It was the nicest sand I have ever seen on a beach. Perfect! We were able to play on the beach most of the days we were there. A few days it was a bit cold and too windy so we did other things. It was great...after she had her breakfast she would tell Papa it was time to go play outside and off they went. There was a little workshop built separate from the house that she liked to play in "Papa, get the keys!" We went into Panama City Beach a couple days, out for walks, playing in the yard, and just hanging out!
Besides Florida we have been lying low. I go back to work next week. Part-time for 2 weeks, then full time. I can't say that the time off went super fast as it kinda sucks being on mat leave in the winter. Can't get outside much with little Jennifer! Of course I will so miss our time together. Especially our morning routine of cuddling in bed with Kate and Jennifer. I am VERY happy Jennifer will be going to Shelli's. Kate is excited for her to come also.
Jennifer is really starting to chat more and more. When we were in FL she found a new scream! Oh yes, now instead of grunter, she is screecher! She is sleeping well also. Last night she went from 10 to 7 without eating. That means 9 hours of sleep for me, but I didn't go to bed until 11:30! Still was super!
March is almost here! Until next time!
