The Days of Kate & Jennifer

Lots has happened since the last post, most importantly I think summer is over - well the heat seems to be gone!!!

We had a great time the last half of the summer. We did a bunch.After a week work trip I had to Europe, Kate, Corey and I went up to a cabin in Northern MN. The whole family and my aunt/cousins + family were there also. It was a great time. We spent 5 days there. There was a great beach area that the kids could swim at. My dad brought the boat so it was almost constantly being ran pulling kids on the tube. They loved it! Kate didn't get in the tube at the cabin, but later in the summer she did! Campfires in the morning and night...good times with family!

We made it to Elm Creek a couple times this summer. The second time, Kate really loved it. Jackers let her borrow his "water wings" and she actually swam and floated on her own. A little nervous, but after seeing Jack do it...she thought it was pretty neat. Thomas and Samuel are swimming machines and they like playing in the sand with Kate and Jack too.

The last few days the Q's were here we were at the lake as it was so nice out! Again, we tubed a ton. Louie bought a new tube, so we had to break it in. This is when Kate and I went (I know 5 1/2 month pregnant - not the best idea - but DANG fun). We went with Louie and Jack. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. With the adult weight we just constantly bounced! Kate calls the tube the "bouncy" - proves it! Her and Jack laughed just as much. It was a fun fun time. Then we just went swimming out in the middle of the lake...the little stinker wanted to swim with me. She would walk down the ladder and get into the water! Thinking next summer I will not be able to keep her out of the boat...as her favorite thing to do is go for boat rides!

The 4-wheeler...in the beginning of the summer, Kate could care less about it. Now that Jack has shown her the way...she wants to ride it all the time. They both would ride it alot. Jack loved it. Better get him a fast one for next summer :) ha!

The last night the Q's were here was a fun one. We got back from the lake in the early afternoon. Actually wasn't a fun ride for me as Kate cried 1/2 the way - all because I wouldn't give her my purse to play with. I get how to "tune" things out now! We had Davannis for dinner and then it was a water fight, bubbles, and a dance party! It was really hard to see a fun day come to a close as we knew what the next day would bring.

Monday was a cold day...which is really interesting as since the Q's left, we haven't had very warm weather. We said our goodbye's, tears were shed, and Stacy brought them off to the airport.

What an EXCELLENT summer! We did so many things. Sooooo many pics that I could have posted!

Since the Q's left we have been hanging out at night. Trying to play outside - last weekend Kate and I went back to the lake. She got her haircut at a proper salon. She loved it and since that day has woken up every day and tells daddy..."haircut!" Too cute. After the haircut we went and bought a new purse with a bunch of different kinds of lip gloss. She loves it and grams/papa both had some nice makeovers! We had a good weekend with Grams and Papa.

Kate learned a bunch this summer. I think back to when the Q's got here and in 2 months seems like she really picked up on lots. Just today we were driving and she said "New car" - sure enough there was a new car w/o license plates in front of us....Samuel..did you teach her that? Thomas taught her to jump rope - Kate's way that is! She likes to do that at night too. Jack taught her to pee like a boy and slap her butt! Too funny!!!
